Appointments & Initial Consultation

Face-to-face appointments are made by calling CAPS (02) 9540 2019.

The first appointment is generally a session to gather information about your current life situation and the difficulties that you may be experiencing. We will discuss your theraputic goals and the different ways we can work together to help relieve these.

All Individual session’s go for 50 minutes.
What to provide at our first session:

* Medicare Card
* Doctor's referral (If being referred)
* Documents you wish to share e.g. school reports, letters

Medicare Rebates
To be entitled to a Medicare rebate you will need a 'Mental Health Plan' referral from your GP, Psychiatrist or Pediatrician.

Private Healthcare Funds
To claim through your private health insurance, you will need to contact your provider to see if you are eligible.

  • Any personal information discussed or written during sessions will be treated with the strictest of confidentiality and your file will be kept in a secure filing cabinet.

  • Session notes are written to capture the issues discussed, new ideas that have been developing, and to record strategies that we have introduced to help.

  • My notes can only be discussed with a third party (e.g. School) if you give your written consent, unless they have been subpoenaed by the court. HOWEVER, If you have a referral from your doctor, psychiatrist, or pediatrician then i am required by Medicare to provide a letter after the first, sixth, tenth and/or final visit.

  • When information is given by one member of a family it will be kept confidential from other members of the family unless permission has been given to disclose the information.

  • If there are concerns about your own personal safety (If under the age of 18 years), or the safety of others including animals, then I am legally obliged to share these concerns with a third party such as the police or community services.

  • Cancellation Policy

    A minimum of 24 hrs notice is required when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. This is to give someone who is on the waiting list a chance to take your spot. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice or is missed, you will attract a cancellation fee, which is 50% of the full scheduled fee.
